1-day workshop, November 22, 2017, "Painting Impressionist Style Landscapes From Photos"Read More
Early this year, our family made a big decision to experience life abroad and in May, I moved to New Zealand.
It has been a fantastic experience living in this amazing country. The enchanting scenery and wonderful people in Auckland have made it easy for us to feel at home.
I am in the process of creating a new collection of paintings. One of my favorite subjects to paint is boats and harbors. Auckland is known as, "the city of sails" and there are plenty of beautiful boats to paint.
Below, there are some short video clips and photos from my recent painting adventures at The Auckland Viaduct Harbor. I discovered a special collection of classic sailboats including one called Arcturus which has an interesting history and was once owned by General Patton and his wife Beatrice who sailed it to Hawaii.
I spent a day painting at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. This amazing museum is within the grounds of a large, beautiful park downtown called The Domain, it has sports fields, ponds, hiking trails, restaurants and 2 victorian greenhouses. The museum has a large collection of over 1 million artifacts from New Zealand, The South Pacific and Melanesia.
I am in the early stages of planning the next New Zealand plein air workshop for January or February of 2018. If you are interested in receiving information or have questions about it, please email me at email@example.com.
If you find a painting you are interested in buying you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for pricing and availability.
